“every once in a while you meet someone with whom your bond is instantaneous and permanent. for me, one of those "someones" was layla. no matter how many years we had together it would never have been enough, but her unexpected passing left a great dane-sized hole in my heart. I hope she's running free somewhere in a field with the strong legs of her youth and that she knows she will always be part of my heart and soul. it’s been four years since her passing and i still can't look at her picture without a catch in my throat and a burning in my eyes, but part of me hopes it will always be that way; the pain is a physical reminder of what she meant to me. there will never be another.”
