“Our sweet, brave, loving boy peacefully passed away on Friday. I am absolutely shattered. He and I spent 11 years together— a third of my life. Ajax, you taught me how to be a grown up, to be patient, to be kind, to love more deeply, to trust more openly, to move my body more, to rest more. You helped me see the beauty in simple, every day things and you brought smiles and joy to every person who met you. Your life was long (almost 15 years!) and you left your mark on so many. Not a day will go by when I won’t think of your smiling face and when I miss you, I’ll sit in your corner and maybe tell you about my day or just listen to the birds or just take a nap. I am at peace knowing you aren’t in pain anymore and I promise to continue to try and be the person you thought I was. Thank you for being such an important part of my life, for welcoming Frank into our family, for trusting me to be your mom. I love you buddy and I miss you so much.”
